From midsummer to early autumn this variety produces its lovely lavender to purple flowers.

Roscoea are tuberous perennials, related to the ginger family, with arching, strap-like leaves and beautiful, orchid-like flowers.  They are hardy but can be sensitive to low winter temperatures so are best planted at around 15cm deep in a partially shaded position.  These plants will tolerate a sunnier position as long as the soil is kept moist during the summer.  Good winter drainage is essential.  H&S 20cm x 40cm

Pot size: 9 cm
