Roscoea x beesiana is the result of a cross between R. cautleyoides and R. auriculata. From midsummer to early autumn it produces its lovely cream flowers with purple streaking, this is quite variable so each plant is different.
Roscoea are tuberous perennials, related to the ginger family, with arching, strap-like leaves and beautiful, orchid-like flowers. They are hardy but can be sensitive to low winter temperatures so are best planted at around 15cm deep in a partially shaded position. These plants will tolerate a sunnier position as long as the soil is kept moist during the summer. Good winter drainage is essential. H&S 45cm
