Dark purple, almost black foliage, is fine and heavily dissected, giving a lace-like appearance. Heads of pink-flushed flowers are followed by deep purple-red berries. An very attractive large shrub/small tree that is great for wildlife. Sun or part shade and most soils, very hardy. Responds well to pruning if you wish to restrict it's size. H&S 4-6m (12-20ft)
