Whorl after whorl of rich orange flowers, spaced at intervals on upright stems that rise above basal rosettes of lettuce-like bright green leaves. Flowers late spring-early summer. Native to hillsides in China this robust and hardy perennial thrives in moist soil in partial shade. Looks particularly good when planted in drifts with hostas, ferns and iris. Deer resistant!
