A small, deciduous cultivar with narrow fronds and rounded, ball-like pinnae attached to the midrib, giving it the look of tatting, hence the name. Found by Mrs Frizell in County Wicklow, Ireland in 1857 at a time when both ferns and tatting were very popular. Ideal for a shady area in rock gardens, woodland gardens or shaded border fronts. Very hardy. H&S 15-25cm
