I bought this plant many years ago under this name, which turns out to not be recognised as a cultivar name at all; but to quote Shakespeare 'What's in a name?' This cultivar/chance seedling/whatever it may be, produces large, rich purple flowers that are loved by bees and butterflies. Cut the plants back hard after flowering and they will re-bloom. Likes full sun and most soils. Very hardy. Great for naturalising in grasslands too. H&S 45cm
